Spun (2002)
This is one of the craziest movies I have seen and my video store clerk told me it's in the same sort of ballpark as Requiem For A Dream. A guy named Ross (Jason Schwartzman), who's a speed freak goes on a wild 3 day fiasco by meeting some people that change his life forever. He goes to his dealer Spider Mike's (John Leguizamo) house on day one and meets fellow speed freaks Frisbee (Almost Famous star Patrick Fugit), Cookie (Mena Suvari), and a stripper who is happening to be going out with the guy who makes the speed named Nikki (The Late Brittany Murphy). Nikki ends up bringing Ross to see the man who calls himself "The Cook" (Mickey Rourke) and he ends up working for him. Crazy events start to happen and at times the movie just gets real weird. I definitely enjoyed the cinematography in this movie with the weird camera shakes and the every time they snort the speed, it gives a close up of their pupils dilating. If your into this kind of stuff, then this movie is for you. The movie also stars Deborah Harry (Lead Singer Of Blondie) as Ross's dike neighbor, Eric Roberts (The Best Of The Best) as the Cooks flamboyantly gay boss, and features cameos by Judas Priest front man Rob Halford as a gay porn shop clerk, Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan as a doctor, Josh Peck (Drake And Josh) as a kid who gets turned down by Spider Mike, and porn star Ron Jeremy as a bartender.
