Pandorum (2009)

This movie is the reason I believe that science fiction can be brilliant and just the idea behind the movie is excellent. All of earth's resources have been depleted in what I believe they said was the year 2174. In that year, we launched a ship into space to travel to a planet we discovered was like earth called Tanis. Think of the ship being a modern day Noah's Arc in that everything we need to survive is on the new planet is on this ship. Something goes tragically wrong and one member of the crew wakes up and suffers from temporary memory loss. He discovers his name is Bower (Ben Foster of Alpha Dog) and he doesn't know where he is, how long he's been asleep in the hyper sleep chamber, and what the hell is after him. Another soon wakes up by the name Payton (Dennis Quaid) and soon tries to help out Bower get to the reactor to restore the ship. On his way, he discovers a super race of humans that evolved into a cannibalistic race and a couple of survivors on the way. Can Bower and his new set of friends (Mixed Martial Artist Cung Le and Antje Traue) fix the reactor to restore what the ship was meant to do (establish new Earth). You'll discover in the movie what Pandorum is and it's effect on the crew, it's a great suspenseful, thrill ride and I give it Three And The Half Stars Out Of Five
