Deadline (2009)

I rented this because of a couple of reasons and you may think that they are sad reasons, but I make my decisions based on these sometimes. I rented it one because Brittany Murphy starred in it, but also because my video store clerk told me that she was ordered to pull it off the shelf because of the cover. The cover features Brittany sprawled out in the bath tub almost like she is dead and subsequently that's how she was found by her mother. So out of respect for her, I will not place the movie poster on this entry. Rather, I replaced the movie poster with a scene from the movie. She plays a screenwriter named Alice who is stressed out about making a deadline. Her girlfriend (Tammy Blanchard) is going to the city for a week and so Alice decides to go this house in the middle of nowhere provided by her producer. She starts to discover weird things are happening in this house like as if it had ghosts. She discovers some tapes left behind by a couple that had lived there once. In the tapes, Alice sees that David (Marc Blucas) is becoming rather suspicious that his wife Lucy (Thora Birch) is cheating on her. Things get all whacked out as the movie goes on. I will say that the movie was okay and at times a little repetitive of what has already been done in the genre. So, my grade may seems a little harsh, but that's what happens when a little buzz is created. Two and The Half Stars Out Of Five
