I wasn't completely disappointed with the movie, I did enjoy it at times and I will tell you why. I thought Robert Downey Jr. (Charlie Bartlett) did a wonderful job playing a very unorthodox private eye and Jude Law (Enemy At The Gates) was also terrific as the very sane and cautious Watson. Amy Adams was terrific as the girl that Holmes is obsessed with and let's manipulate his every move, Ms. Irene Adler. Together, all three of them made this movie worth watching even though the movie dragged at times. In the beginning, you see Holmes and Watson solve a case where a Lord by the name of Blackwood is performing black magic. He is sentenced to hang but promises to return from the dead and achieve his master plan. Holmes and Watson, soon discover that he does rise from the dead and it's up to them to figure out what Blackwood is scheming. Mark Strong (Body Of Lies) does a terrefic job as Lord Blackwood as well as Eddie Marsan as Inspector Lestrade. The movie also stars big man Robert Maillet (300), Kelly Reilly (Above Suspicion) as Watson's love interest, and William Hope (Sky Captain and The world of Tomorrow) as Ambassador Standish. The movie does have some great fights and action sequences, but it does drone on at times. Three Stars Out Of Five
