54 (1998)

Ryan Phillipe (Cruel Intentions) stars as Shane, a young Jersey kid who wants to escape Jersey for fame and tells the story of Studio 54 through his eyes. This movie is about all the debauchery, decadence, and the demise of the club and disco. The movie has an all star cast to boot with Selma Hayek (Desperado) and Breckin Meyer (Clueless) as Anita and Greg Randazzo, a couple that becomes Shane's surrogate parents while he lives in Manhattan, Mike Myers (Shrek) as Steve Rubell, one of the infamous club owners, Neve Campbell (Scream) as Julie Black, a soap actress using 54 to get into Hollywood, and Sela Ward (Day After Tomorrow) as a record executive Billie Auster. We always heard about the Drugs and debauchery that happened in 54 and now we finally get to see something. Phillipe and Hayek do not disappoint in this film and Mike Myers does a terrific job as the weird and eccentric Rubell. Three Stars Out Of Five
